Application criteria of the department

Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) Entry Mode (100 Level)
Students seeking admission into the 100 level shall be selected through the concessional entrance examination of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and the internal University selection process, respectively.
To be eligible for admission, candidates must have at least five credits at one sitting in the Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSC) or its equivalent (WASC/GCE O’ Level/NECO/NABTEB) in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
UTME Subjects: English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Biology.

Direct Entry Mode (200 Level)
Candidates seeking direct entry to the Programme must have passed the GCE Advanced Level in Biology, Physics and Chemistry (with a minimum aggregate of 13). In, addition to any degree/UME, general entry requirements for university admission to the 200 level in all ramifications.
